Who knew making a custom water cooling loop could be so fun. (not)
Additional Details
My old PC of +8 years died in Jan, been saving for a new, forever PC, mostly for work (motion graphics) and a little bit of gaming.
Moved from the attic to what was formerly a kids room, exchanging space for light and ventilation.
From start to finish, the build took 3 weeks, mostly due to waiting for parts.
CPU overclocked from 3.8 to 4.27ghz
Runs at CPU/GPU 60c under 100% load w/ fans and pump at 50%
Runs STO at 300+ fps at max settings at native res (3840x1600)
3x NVME drives are in raid 0 (boot/application drive) - doing this before your windows install is a pain
Had to re-seat the GPU water cooling block 3 times (including draining the water cooling loop) to fix temps
The original 1200w PSU exploded after 20 hours of light operation. (RMA)
The original motherboard had broken fan mounting pins. (RMA)
Pump, radiators, res, and fittings all from EKWB (££££)
Because the case was brand new, there were no guides or even officially compatible parts for the case, so it was a massive jigsaw puzzle. In the end, I had to switch out the 2x 180mm case fans for 3 140mm fans because no radiator that would fit the original fans could be installed.
