Hello All,

See below a PM from Teleluchus with the sad news that Veteran member Delwyn, recently died unexpectedly. Delwyn served with distinction in 12th Fleet; among other jobs, he took on the position of VA of Engineering. Teleluchus asks for assistance in notifying those who knew Delwyn at UFP that might want to know of his passing. He also gives his contact information should any wish more information.

Hello Amicus,

I doubt you remember me as I was not very active with the fleet as a whole. I am reaching out to let you know that former member of the command staff, Delwyn, has passed unexpectedly. I don't have a list of members who would want to know and am asking for your assistance in passing along the information. I do know he had been working with the United Federation of Planets fleet but I do not have a way to contact them and would appreciate any assistance. Please feel free to contact me on Discord @Teleluchus#9814 and that account can be passed to anyone who has questions.

Thank you,
Teleluchus

This is sad news. I worked closely with Delwyn for over a year in EngCom. It was he that brought me up the ranks and eventually recommended and persuaded me to take over from him as VA of Engineering. I still consider that a mistake on his part. But he was a great source of support during some of the hardest times, I and the fleet as a whole, went through. He always kept his head, even when I was on the verge of loosing mine. I still remember the many conversations we had at 4am (my time) both during his time as VA and my own. I am of course biased, but I consider him to be one of the best VAs that we ever had and I never came close to filling his shoes in the role.

Both I and the fleet would be very different without his influence (not an honour that I give lightly). I had always hoped that he would one day return to rejoin the fleet. We even chatted about the possibility on occasion. He will be greatly missed.

Delwyn was a great guy. We spent a lot of time together on Teamspeak while dispatching borg and grinding STFs.
Rest in Peace my friend.

And another Warrior passes after serving his community with distinction. May Delwyn serve just as well in the Black Fleet, as surely Sto'vokor is his destination.

My condolences to his family and friends, should anyone read this that can pass such good will along.

I saw this before work today, but was at a loss of what to say at the time. Delwyn was a great friend to M.A.C.O. and to myself. We co-sponsored many ground events and ran countless STF's together. He was always one of the first to volunteer to run Defera Ground and he held his own as much as any M.A.C.O. could. I had many a deep and intellectual conversation with him over the years. I was honored to be the M.A.C.O. VA serving alongside wonderful people such as Delwyn. I am deeply saddened to gear this news. In all honestly, it just really sucks. The world is a worse place in his absence.

Attention to orders:

I, Lieutenant Colonel Venethus "Vene" Darksilence, on this day 30 June 2019, hereby posthumously award Delwyn the M.A.C.O. Division Medal of Excellence for outstanding contributions to M.A.C.O. and the fleet.

Thank you all for helping to contact those who knew Delwyn in the STO community. If there are any other questions for me, please do not hesitate to ask.

Regards,
