The singleplayer on AvP is okaaaay, it's a little weak comapared to what they could have made it.
but the Multi player is pretty badass, as they"ve balance the races decently.

Alien vs predator... Ahh.. the memories...

About 10 - 11 years ago I had a copy of AvP2 and I played it with a friend. He was playing a marine in the solo mode and I was sitting next to him.

We were sitting in a darkened room as well and in the storyline mode we just lost contact with our team in the game and were on our own. He was walking around when the lights were going out and the creepy music and background noises started to play.

Well as you probably remember you have a radar with white dots on them when aliens are approaching. I was watching this radar closely and saw 2 dots appearing.
Me: Nick, I see 2 dots.
Nick: Ah don't worry, it's nothing.
:::He keeps on walking and we stand infront of a door.:::
Me: Nick, I really see 2 dots!
::: He opens the door. :::
*2 aliens jump through the door right in his face in the middle of the screen*
Me: NICK WATCH OUTTTTT!!!
Nick: AHHHH God Damn it Jasper!!
*He starts firing wildly while having an alien sitting on his face and killing him.*

I nearly gave him a heart attack that day and we still talk about it 10 years after that incident. When I say 'I see 2 dots' it's enough to make him say 'shut up'.

Funny thing is that he probably wouldn't have been scared shitless if he I didn't start yelling so much in his ear right behind him.

my best memory from that game would be from playing over the LAN in my web design class and having all the colonial marine players absolutly curse whenever i used the Smartblade on them for a cheap kill!

good times.

i don't remember any lessons from that class though.... odd

I bought this game shortly after it's release, tbh, the original was much better. Balance wasn't too much of an issue, Marines just had to have "tatics" (camp) certain areas with the smart gun and it cut down both pred and aliens pretty quick. Hopefully they patch it more to give it a better feel, but the single player was kinda neat, especially the alien story
