Friends,
After doing much research, I feel no one should be stressing over the poor way many companys are handling the Open Beta Client and Pre-Order process.
In the past 5 minutes, I purchased the Deluxe Digital Download from D2D, thier information on the process was immediate, same with Open Beta Code, same with the Client.
Purchase, registration, down loader utility, and the start of the Open Beta Client in less than 5 mins!
Now downloading at 1.5 mb/s, make sure you use their utility.
THEY WON MY BUSINESS. And I sent them a KUDOS email thanking them for having enough concern for their paying customers to keep them informed, and providing a clear concise process that allows use to get the client for Open Beta installed NOW, instead of clogging all the servers at the last minute rush.
So as Jackie Gleason would say "Bing, Bam, Zoom"!
Vote with your dollars.

Re: Painless Open Beta, Pre-Order process
I have only heard positives coming from those guys! Amazing how efficient they are. If I wasnt stuck in my old ways of wanting a physical purchase (actually get the DVD's and stuff) I would have gone with them.
I have ordered from Play.com and im quite happy, they only posted the dates of when the keys would be released (tomorrow) the other day but im still happy
Glad to finally hear someone have a good experience

I like the real stuff too, so what I did was order the CE from GS, and I will keep it as a true CE and use the DD as my actual game to play.Workshop2 wrote:I have only heard positives coming from those guys! Twice the cost, but half the stress for me the CE junkie.
I like CE's for the big IPs such as Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Conan...you know classic books that have been out since the dawn of time.
But for stuff like WoW, Left4Dead2, those types I could care less about CEs or the DVDs and stuff.

D2D downloading went like a charm. Downloading at 2 Mb/s. I highly recommend that one.
Cheers!

Re: Painless Open Beta, Pre-Order process
I ordered with amazon and have no complaints with them but have no idea where to get the client, found a link on on the STO website bringing me to fileplanet but can't get the downloader to go faster the 10kbs. Any one know of a good place?
