YOU are Invited to
The Fleet-Wide Squad of the Month Meet!

By order of the Council of Admirals, after completion of the competition portion of the Meet, there will be a drawing at this month's SotM for:

PRIZE GIVE-AWAY
:!: 20 Million Energy Credits :!:

The scheduling of the March Squad of the Month meet is now OPEN.

Hello All!

Time to schedule the next meet!

The leading option is: Saturday the 29th

The other choice(s): Saturday the 22nd and Saturday the 15th.

If the 15th is chosen, scheduling will close on Monday, March 10, to allow enough notice before the event. Note, the start time this month is an hour earlier in Europe because the U.S. has already started Daylight Saving time (Summer Time in Europe).

Post your availability or preferences for the date choice in a reply below.

What is Squad of the Month?
The Squad of the Month ("SotM") meet is a monthly fleet event that takes place on our 12th Discord server every month on a Saturday, the exact date determined by polling in a scheduling thread (such as this one).

The meet commences with an inter-squad competition to determine the Fleet's Squad of the Month. The competition is followed immediately by a drawing for EC from the Fleet Bank. Subsequent activities may include: group battle zone runs, teaming up to cruise TFO queues and Story-Line Missions, build advice, and just hanging out together on Discord.

The meet lasts about seven hours with an hour meal break midway. Members and their friends are welcome to join in at any time during the course of the event; you do not have to be there for the beginning or stay to the end. We are a casual fleet, and participation in any portion of the event is optional.

Scheduling the Meet:
The date for the meet is chosen based on allowing for the most attendance by members during the competition and prize give-away in the first half hour. Scheduling of the event is usually open in the forum for about a week before a date is chosen, but that time may be shorter in order to allow at least five days notice before the event date. The date chosen depends ultimately on who wants to participate and who will actually show up. Be sure of your commitment when requesting a date change because not showing up on a date that has been changed to accommodate you may mean your choice will get less weight in future event scheduling. Extra weight in scheduling will be given to the availability of those who are administering activities throughout the meet.

Rules for Competition:
The winner of the Squad of the Month is decided by competition between all squads with members present during the first 15 minutes of the meet ("the grace period"). By default the competition will consist of a bot race by a representative member from each of the qualifying squads. The representative squad member for the race will be chosen by the convener of the meet based on ranking squad command officer (or that officer’s designee), seniority, or election of the squad members in that order of preference. Any method other than bot race for determining the winner, must be agreed upon by all competing squad members present and approved by the convener of the meet (normally me) as being swift enough to be resolved simply without taking up the whole meet or leaving the winner undetermined beyond the end of the meet.

Scheduling has been open more than a week. No conflicts were voiced to the suggested date. Therefore, the date of the meet will be:

Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 20:00 UTC (i.e., 7PM GMT, 3PM ET, 2PM CT, 12AM PT) :!:

NOTE: The time for the meet will be an hour earlier than usual in Europe, because the U.S. is already on Daylight Saving Time (aka Summer Time in Europe).

The scheduling of this month's meet is now CLOSED.
