YOU :!: are Invited to
The Fleet-Wide Squad of the Month Meet!

 PRIZE GIVE-AWAY

At the continued generosity of Kivrin :bolian:,
there will be a drawing at this month's SotM for the following prizes:

 A Tier 6 Lobi Ship (select from any T6 Lobi ship of value 900 Lobi) , and

 Deep Space 9 Holographic Bridge Officers
(choices from 1 Weyoun, 1 Sarish Minna, 1 Loriss, and 1 James Kurland)

The scheduling of the February Meet is now OPEN.

Time to schedule this month's Meet!

The leading option currently is [Sunday the 24th].

The other choices are: [Saturday the 23rd], Saturday the 16th, and Sunday the 17th.

Scheduling Rules:
Post your scheduling choice in a reply below. Note that dates you say you cannot attend are more important than the dates that you say you prefer in deciding the date of the meet. We are trying to get the highest turn out of all squad members for the competition in the first hour. Thus, if 5 people prefer a date but 1 more can attend only on another date, then the date on which 6 can attend will win even though 5 of the 6 preferred a different date. It is assumed that you can attend all the date options, unless you clearly state otherwise in a post below or have communicated that fact to me directly.

Extra weight is given to the votes of squad captains, squad XOs, and anyone who is actually committing to showing up at a time (as opposed to "maybe" showing). Scheduling depends ultimately on who wants to participate and who will actually show up. In order to get the maximum turn out from US and European members, our starting time is traditionally set on a weekend at 10 PM in UK (which in winter is the same as GMT/UTC), but the time chosen depends on who is committing to be there.

What is Squad of the Month?
The Squad of the Month ("SotM") meet is a monthly fleet event which starts with an inter-squad competition to determine the Fleet's Squad of the Month. The competition is followed by group activities which may include: build advice, challenge match PvP, teaming up to cruise the PvE/PvP queues, and just hanging out together on TS. We are a casual fleet, and participation in any portion of SotM is optional.

Rules for Competition: The new rules have been approved by the Command Council for the competition portion of the meet. The winner of the competition is determined principally by attendance during the first 15 minutes of the meet ("grace period"). The squad with the most members logging into the Discord channel during the grace period wins. However, if any squad shows up with its full membership during the grace period but still does not have enough numbers to win the competition, then the result will be a tie between all squads with their full membership attending and the squad with the largest number of members attending. If there is a tie, then the winner of the competition will be determined either by dice roll (".roll" using the Security Bot on Discord), or by any other method agreed upon between the tying parties (e.g., PvP match, trivia question, etc.). Any method other than dice roll for resolving a tie, must be approved by the convener of the meet (normally me) as being swift enough to be resolved simply without taking up the whole meet or leaving the winner undetermined beyond the end of the meet.

Scheduling has been open for over a week. There was one conflicts voiced to the suggested date, but not the alternate date. Therefore, the next Squad of the Month meet will be:

Sunday, February 24, at 22:00 UTC (i.e., 10PM GMT, 5PM EST, 4PM CST, 2PM PST) :!:

The scheduling of the February meet is now CLOSED.

Hello All,

Heads up! I was just informed :face: that I have been called back for auditions on next Sunday at 23:00 UTC, so I am going to have to take off early from SotM after the grace period and won't make it back for the rest of the event until around 3 hours into it. Will go by Fleet rank, depending on who is there, as to who will be in charge while I am away. Assuming Hatch and Kuvak make it, then they can share the duty or defer to each other as they wish.

Amicus

Your Squad Needs YOU!
Sunday, February 24 at 22:00 UTC
(i.e., 10PM GMT, 5PM ET, 4PM CT, 2PM PT)

Squad of the Month meet is THIS SUNDAY!
Attendance is a big part of scoring the winner. Don't let your squad go down without a fight!

 PRIZE GIVE-AWAY

At the continued generosity of Kivrin :bolian:,
there will be a drawing at this month's SotM for the following prizes:

 Deep Space 9 Holographic Bridge Officers
(choices from 1 Weyoun, 1 Sarish Minna, 1 Loriss, and 1 James Kurland)

The Meet will convene on Discord in a channel labeled "Squad of the Month" at the time set forth above.

Rules for Competition: The winner of the competition is determined principally by attendance during the first 15 minutes of the meet ("grace period").

After the competition we will have activities for the remainder of the evening, including: challenge match PvP, build advice, teaming up to cruise the queues, and just hanging out together on TS. :)

Congratulations to Engineering's Charlie Squad ("The Aesir") for winning the Squad of the Month meet for February 2019 (a first for Charlie Squad)! Charlie won by challenge dice roll after it tied against Engineering's Alpha because both squad's mustered one of their roster during the initial 15-minute grace period. MACO's Bravo Squad made an honorable showing by also mustering one of its roster during the grace period, but it had no one online at the end of the grace period to roll dice, so was not eligible for the tie breaker.

At the generousity of
Kivrin, prizes were given away to lucky attenders at the beginning of the Meet. Prize winners were determined by highest dice roll using the Discord Security Bot. The winners were as follows:

A Tier 6 Lobi Ship (selected from any T6 Lobi ship of value 900 Lobi)
Hatch

Deep Space 9 Holographic Bridge Officers
Weyoun -
Cmdraftbrn
Sarish Minna -
Compston

Two bridge officers from Kivrin remain for prizes next month! In addition there is a proposal up for vote before next month's meet to award a prize of 10 million EC to a lucky attender at all SotM meets in the future. :o

Kudos to all who participated in the meet, including, the prize give-away and cruising of queues, that went on until 12 PM CT; including as follows:

Aukora
Cmdraftbrn
Compston
Hatch
RoninUTA
Zefleas
Zoltan417
