I pretty much despise TV these days, however, this one has potential... Possibly. I thought the jokes fell a bit flat for a teaser, but I soo want a Galaxy Quest-like show to be in the world, so I really hope it's better than the trailer.

I'm not a huge McFarlane fan, but this looks good. Kind of another Galaxy Quest. So hope they don't dwell too much on the slapstick humour that McFarlane is known for.

Just finished the first episode. The Orville is an straight homage to TNG and I love it.

The jokes were corny but not too distracting. There was no conspiracy or unnecessary crew tensions. It showed an optimistic outlook and there was no foreshadowing of war or looming dread at the end of the episode.

I can't say anything about Discovery yet, but the Orville is for me the Star Trek show I've been waiting for. Hopefully it will get better in future episodes.

I have to say that I was a bit disappointed in it. Not sure if it was the writing or that they really need to work on building the characters. They did bring in the actress who played Kasidy Yates from SD9.
