REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLICANTS

Everyone is welcome to join 12th Fleet as long as they are suitable to join our community, and meet the age requirements set out by Star Trek Online's EULA.

As per the STO EULA (Terms of Service), anyone under the age of 13 years old is not permitted to create/use an account. Furthermore, if you are between the age of 13 & 18 years of age a parent/guardian has to read all of the associated terms and conditions etc, and is in agreement with them.

As such, 12th Fleet unfortunately can not accept any application from someone under the age of 13. If you are between the age of 13 & 18 years of age, by applying to join 12th Fleet you are confirming that a parent/guardian has read all of the associated terms and conditions etc, and is in agreement with them.

12th Fleet is a community of over 400 people of varying ages, ethnicities, religious beliefs, sexual preferences and who may not have English as their first language. We expect people to leave their opinions on these matters at the door, and ask that everyone excepts each other for who they are, with no discrimination.

We ask that you fill out your application yourself, without copy/pasting answers from others, or using others for ideas of what to write. Doing so may result in instant Denial of application.

Do not lie or leave out information on your application. If you cannot remember something, fair enough, but if it is clear that you should be able to remember (such as being in another Fleet recently) then your application may be Denied.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

1) Copy the application form (only text inside CODE box)

2) Create new topic in the Recruitment Forums and put the subject of your application as “Application – (NAME)”??

3) Paste the application form into created topic.

4) Fill in the blanks. Please number the Divisions 1-9 (1 being 1st preference) within the ( ) spots (ignoring Closed Divisions).

5) Your application will first be edited to read "[PROCESSING]" this means that a member of Section 31 or one of the Command staff is performing a security check (SCHK).

6) [Optionally] Your application may be edited to read "[MORE INFO NEEDED]" this means that there is a question in your application that we'd like answered first before we can process it any further.

After this two things may happen:

7a) After you have passed the security check, your post will read “Application – (NAME) – [APPROVED] (Division Choices)”. After this an admiral will be notified and you will be contacted shortly with an offer.

7b) If you don't pass security check your application will read “[DENIED]”. The reason for this will be included in application form. Your application topic will be closed.

8) After you get your assignment you are officially an accepted recruit. Your application will read “[ACCEPTED]”. Your forum rights will be extended to member level access.

ALL AVAILABLE APPLICATION STATUSES

  • PROCESSING - We've seen your application and are waiting for somebody to start a SCHK on it, or the SCHK is in progress.
  • APPROVED- This is short for Security check. We check every recruit to see if he or she would fit in with the rest of the fleet. This process is intended to keep the fleet drama free. If you see this status in your application it means you passed the security check and you're now a full member of the fleet. Your forum rights should get updated at that moment too, or otherwise will be shortly after.
  • MORE INFO NEEDED- If you see this status then somebody tried to do a SCHK on your application, but is lacking information to complete the check. In that case there is a question in your application that we'd like answered first before we can process it any further.
  • ACCEPTED - One of the divisions accepted you and you're now assigned to a rank and place in the fleet. Unless there are special circumstances (like an old member rejoining) this rank will always be ensign.
  • DENIED - You failed the security check and you can't join the 12th Fleet.

RECRUITS

Probation period:
All newly accepted members have to go through a 1 month probation period.
During that time they are not protected by the Strike Kick Rule (they are removed from the Fleet as soon as they would receive 1 strike)

Being a recruit:
All newly accepted members start at the in-game rank of recruit.
After the established amount of time, and if there are no incidents, the recruit is promoted to full member. This is one of the security measures we have in place to protect the integrity of our community.

Time spend as recruit:
All be members spend 1 month as a recruit; after 1 month, recruits are promoted to full Member status.

Recruit limitations:
Other than the limitations mentioned here, recruits have the same rights as member.
  • No access to fleet bank (no deposits and no withdraws)*
  • No access to fleet stores (but recruits have permission to donate, so fleet credits can be earned while a recruit, and then spent when promoted to member)

* If you want to deposit or withdraw something from the bank you can always contact a member of Command about it.
