Hail and well met! I noticed there was not a specific template for posting applications, but I know how important guild/fleet forum usage can be. I figured I would make the opportunity to draft a basic "recruitment template" that I can base my application around. RL Data First: Name: Greg Age and Location: 27, Republic of Texas Cake or Pie: That depends on the pie. STO Forum Name: OnlyMaestro About You? I'm an avid gamer, and huge Star Trek fan. In general, I'm a large sci-fi nerd for almost anything...as long as there are explosions, cool ships, green women, ya know...the usual. In reality, I work for FEMA in disaster recovery, specifically what is referred to as infrastructure assistance. To summarize, I'm one of the first people to a disaster scene to begin work on rebuilding the destroyed public facilities, and to help the local governments receive their grant funding. I go from disaster to disaster, but my Regional Office is based in Texas. About your character, what do you intend to play? As much character information is still somewhat vague, I saw myself playing a role of a Combat Medic, or some sort of specialized security person. All branches in Star Trek interest me in the storyline, but like most I see myself eventually seeking true command opportunity. The reason for a "Combat Medic" is being under fire, treating our wounded, and being able to fight would make me doubly useful. I realize STO doesn't have a typical class such as this, but that's how I'll end up playing the character (if possible!). How did you hear about the 12th Fleet? Aside from Deep Space Nine, I have been lurking around the STO forums for many moons...and after reading posts, seeing discussions, I felt the 12th fleet would be the one I could benefit the most - and that would in essence "benefit" me the most. I don't mean that in a greedy fashion, I feel unit members should add to the group, and the group should add to them. What are you looking for in a fleet? A group of people that seek success for the overall fleet, and not just individual accomplishment. Individual success is great, and we should cheer that - but the main goal should be to see overall quality results for the fleet. If the fleet is in battle, we fight as one, and die as one. Leave no Oberth-class behind! What MMO experience do you have? Oodles. From the PK days of Ultima Online, to the forced raiding days of Warcraft, and the catastrophes of Age of Conan and Warhammer Online. My fondest memories are UO, Star Wars Galaxies and WoW when we first killed Ragnaros, finished BWL and those types of events. Do you plan to roleplay? I'm no as good at RP as most, but if the fleet does RP events, you better believe I will be involved. I hope I didn't intrude myself by making such a template, I wanted to make it easier for the Fleet commander group to review my information. I realize this early on you might get a lot of spam recruitment requests, and I wanted to avoid that. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me and I would be happy to oblige.
