How did you hear about the 12th fleet? Just saw chili@chilee chilling in the Vulcan sector and sent him a /tell.
What made you interested in choosing the 12th fleet? I started playing in December 2012 and I got hooked and ended up rushing through the Cryptic episodes content. I think the last were the Breen episodes. Anyway, I am not a big fan of grinding so I wanted something to do to extend my experience. I thought joining the right fleet could help me do that, and I feel that I could actually contribute something to a fleet at this point. So I poked around Sol and started looking at fleet names, sent a few tells, looked at a few websites, and then finally got in a conversation with Chili. I like the name of the fleet -- it ought to sound like a name that Starfleet would give one of its fleets -- not something like the "Sexy Pirates of Orion" and the like. Also, I am a fan of Norse mythology (thus the moniker Hallgrim) and so I fancied returning to Valhalla after a mission.
I poked around a bit further and read your directives and find them to fit my way of thinking about gaming and being civil.

STO interests (Please number your interests from 1 to 7 in order of preference, with 1 being your main interest and 7 being your least interest):
(1) General PVE and External Fleet Security
[Section 31](6) Space PvP
[Tactical](2) STFs and Ground PvP
[MACO](3) General PvE
[Engineering] CLOSED - DIVISION FULL(4) Role Playing
[Medical](5) Group PvE and Space Exploring (Creative Writing)
[Exploration](7) Starbase Operations and Fleet Mark Group PvE
[Starbase Operations]Note that all members can partake in any in-game event, your division does not dictate what you can do, it gives you a place to do what you prefer.
Divisions welcome all in-game careers, you do not have to join the division that your character specialises in in-game. Instead join the division that focusses on your main gameplay interest.
To be perfectly honest I don't know that I like PVP so far. I've only tried it a couple of times and it seems a bit too rushed to me. The furballs are a bit overwhelming but I am curious to try it under the guidance of an experienced PVPer. Also, I don't know what is meant by "external fleet security" and "starbase operations and fleet mark group" so I rated it last. If by the latter you mean, do STF like stuff for the benefit of the fleet rather than my character that would be a tie for number 2 then! I don't know anything about starbase projects but I would very much like to make an effort and contribute to the fleet.
Finally, I do not like the idea of ground fighting as much as space battles. I just think its not really the place of a starship captain to be running around the mortar-laden battlefields getting his head blown off after starfleet has invested so much training and knowledge in him. I like first person combat, but it doesn't make a lot of sense to me that starfleet would beam down 20 starship captains when stormtroopers ought to be doing that sort of bloodwork.------------------------------------------------------------------------
Diplomacy is recruited from within the fleet, tick if you would be interested in the future

What days and times are you usually online?: Almost each weekday from 4pm to 5pm Pacific Time. However, I am new to the game and have been playing a lot during the work evenings and the weekends. Hours and hours, but I am going to have to scale back here come Spring.

Have you ever played an MMORPG? If so, which one and how long: Yeah, I played Asheron's Call. I can't remember how long I played that seemed like a good year or so, before the family put the foot down. I had a high level character named Stalker Hobbes and sold him on eBay. I almost cried. Then I played WWII ONLINE for a year or so. I went through the officer training and was promoted to Allied High Command. Maybe I played with some of you... my name in WWIIOL was Hallgrim as well. I was part of the SAS Brigade and we had a ball. I even ran the website for the SAS Vanguard for a time. Anyway, then I got accepted to law school and I had to quit everything that ate up my spare time and use it to study. No social life at all, but at least I graduated.

In a paragraph please explain how you will benefit the 12th fleet? First of all, I do not cause problems. Second, I know how to follow orders. (But I must make it clear that as far as I am concerned Hallgrim's Wife is the Supreme Commander of the Mutliverse and if she tells me to pull the plug... I'm a dot. Other than that I am happy to pitch in.) I fully intend to just enjoy myself in the game, be an example of good cheer and civility to my fleetmates, lend a hand in game whenever real life lends me a couple of hours, and do my part to turn in whatever grindtrek coinage is needed to advance the fleet.

Will you give your future division's Admiral at least 3 days notice if you decide to resign? Y / N Yes, certainly.
Will you use Fleet Teamspeak Voice Chat? Y / N Yes, but only at certain times. I will not be using Teamspeak if my wife and-or grandson is home and awake -- family is numero uno to me -- so you will see me on Teamspeak when they have gone to bed or are out of the house.
Would you be interested in writing or doing art for the the 12th Fleet Magazine? Y / N Yes, in the future I could definitely do some writing but right now I don't know enough about STO to have anything good to write. Other than writing, I have no artistic talent to speak of.
