After searching the STO forums, listening to the chatter from the STO podcasts (Priority One and STOked) and visiting a few Fleet websites, I found there was more diverse ways of playing the game - the 12th seems to embrace that range of players whole-heatedly What made you interested in choosing the 12th fleet? Aside from the good stuff that was being spoken about - in a very friendly, coherent, dare I say grown-up manner - within the forum (sorry, I'm a bit of a lurker) I was swayed by the really informative Valhalla Vanguard. A great read and brilliant recruitment tool. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ STO interests (Please number your interests from 1 to 7 in order of preference, with 1 being your main interest and 7 being your least interest): (5) General PVE and External Fleet Security [Section 31] (1) Space PvP [Tactical] (6) STFs and Ground PvP [MACO] (3) General PvE [Engineering] (4) Role Playing [Medical] (2) Group PvE and Space Exploring (Creative Writing) [Exploration] (7) General PVE and Fleet Bank management [Logistics and Supply] Note that all members can partake in any in-game event, your division does not dictate what you can do, it gives you a place to do what you prefer. Divisions welcome all in-game careers, you do not have to join the division that your character specialises in in-game. Instead join the division that focusses on your main gameplay interest. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Diplomacy is recruited from within the fleet, tick if you would be interested in the future (X) Diplomacy ------------------------------------------------------------------------ What days and times are you usually online?: Due the demands of RL and Kids (do they count as RL?) mainly a hour in the mornings (M-F 0530-0630), and a couple of hours on a few week nights (M-W 2000-2300, Fridays and Saturdays if I can squeeze some hours in!) If you believe my wife, STO has started to take over my life. It's not that bad, but my enthusiasm for the game and the surrounding Star Trek Universe is quite high. We are now using security protocol 2. However if you pass one month probation without incident this will assure full security clearance. You have passed our security check, and are now a member of 12th Fleet! Someone should be along shortly to give you your divisional assignment. I assign you as an Ensign to Epsilon Squad (Wolfpack) under Captain Lorina (The-Borg). If you haven't already, I recommend you read through our Information Index as it contains information on all our communication channels as well as other important information. You can set your avatar here, just click on Display gallery and select the Division and the Ensign avatar. After that submit and you're done. I would note that Tactical division relies heavily on Team Speak for coordinating PvP teams (for things like designating targets for focus fire, requesting heals, etc.). It is not necessary to have a microphone as long as you can be in channel and hearing commands during combat. Team Speak is also a decent place to hang out and get tips on game play. |
