Interesting thread, I like the slogan it's short and to the point. I tend to prefer old Ben Franklin when quoting to make my points, but Locke is good too.

one of my favorite Benjamin Franklin quotes; "Any nation that would sacrifice a little liberty for a little security, will deserve neither and lose both."

Wow, that's a really good quote seeing as the patriot act has been introduced the past few years and it seems other countries are watching your every move.

I personally am a big fan of the motto of Dutch coat of arms and royal family: Je maintiendrai (I will maintain) I think this could be fitted into the context of law. I will maintain order/the law. Also french is a pretty language

I believe, and don't take this as the gospel, but after some discussion the official motto is:
"Where law ends, tyranny begins."

I was looking for an unofficial or fightin' motto as well
