Your Squad Needs YOU!
Saturday, December 29 at 22:00 UTC
(i.e., 10PM GMT, 5PM ET, 4PM CT, 2PM PT)

Squad of the Month meet is THIS SATURDAY!
Attendance is a big part of scoring the winner. Don't let your squad go down without a fight!

The Meet will convene on Discord in a channel labeled "Squad of the Month" at the time set forth above.

New Rules for Competition: We are continuing the experiment with new rules for the competition portion of the meet. The winner of the competition will be determined principally by attendance during the first 15 minutes ("grace period") of the meet. The squad with the most members logging into the Discord channel during the grace period wins. However, if any squad shows up with its full membership during the grace period but still does not have enough numbers to win the competition, then the result will be a tie between all squads with their full membership attending and the squad with the largest number of members attending. If there is a tie, then the winner of the competition will be determined either by dice roll (".roll" using the Security Bot on Discord), or by any other method agreed upon between the tying parties (e.g., PvP match, trivia question, etc.). Any method other than dice roll for resolving a tie, must be approved by the convener of the meet (normally me) as being swift enough to be resolved simply without taking up the whole meet or leaving the winner undetermined beyond the end of the meet.

After the competition we will have activities for the remainder of the evening, including: challenge match PvP, build advice, teaming up to cruise the queues, and just hanging out together on TS. :)

Congratulations to MACO's Bravo Squad ("Death Dealers") for winning the Squad of the Month meet for December 2018!

Bravo won following the new experimental rules for the match by mustering 33% of its roster during the last few minutes of the grace period. Honorable showings were made by Engineering's Alpha, Beta, and Charlie Squads; Tactical's Gamma; and Section 31's Alpha.

At the generousity of Kivrin, prizes were given away to lucky attenders at the beginning of the Meet. Game options available from the Discord Security Bot were utilized to determine the prize winners. The first prize, a box containing a T6 Infinity Ship of the opener's choice, was awarded by raffle to RoninUTA. The winner of the second prize, a Ferengi Vanity Shield, was determined by "animal race", with the prize going to N5XTR (Joel). Stay tuned (tooned? ;) ) for the announcement of next month's exciting new prize giveaway courtesy of Kivrin! :o

Kudos to all who participated in the meet, including, two grand PvP matches, build discussions and cruising of queues, that went on until midnight CT; including as follows:

Ashes and Embers
Cmdraftbrn
Kuvak
KirwinHansel
Hatch
N5XTR (Joel)
Neoluna
Pattern
RoninUTA
Snuggyburger
Sysil
Zefleas

Congrats and Happy New Years! Prizes have been delivered, good luck next month! I just added another one to the pile and I'm sure Amicus will mention it for next month!
