YOU :!: are Invited to
The Fleet-Wide Squad of the Month Meet!

The scheduling of the March Meet is now CLOSED.

It is time to choose this month's meet date.

Post your scheduling choice in a reply below. Note that dates you say you cannot attend are more important than the dates that you request in deciding the date of the meet. We are trying to get the highest turn out of all squad members. Thus, if 5 people request one day but 6 can attend on a date that no one has requested, then the date on which 6 can attend will win. It is assumed that you can attend all suggested dates, unless you say otherwise in a post below or have communicated that fact to me directly.

Extra weight is given to the votes of squad captains, squad XOs, and anyone who is actually committing to showing up at a time (as opposed to "maybe" showing). Scheduling depends ultimately on who wants to participate and who will actually show up. In order to get the maximum turn out from US and European members, our starting time is traditionally set on a weekend at 10 PM in UK (which in winter is the same as GMT/UTC), but the time chosen depends on who is committing to be there.

Currently, I am favoring Saturday, March [11th]. The other choices are Sunday the 19th, Saturday the [18th], and Sunday the 12th. I am away the last weekend this month, so it is off the table.

What is Squad of the Month?
The Squad of the Month ("SotM") meet is a monthly fleet event which starts with an inter-squad competition to determine the Fleet's Squad of the Month. The competition is followed by group activities which may include: build advice, challenge match PvP, teaming up to cruise the PvE/PvP queues, and just hanging out together on TS. We are a casual fleet, and participation in any portion of SotM is optional.

The rules for the competition can be found posted here. The competition portion of the meet is not designed for perfect balance; there is no great honor in winning, nor dishonor in losing. It is intended mostly to provide a focus activity for everyone at the event which allows us to hang out together, improve our gaming skills, and have fun. :)

Very well! Scheduling has been open five days. Saturdays are generally preferred and the were conflicts with two of the Saturday options. Therefore, the next SotM will be:

Saturday, March 11 at 22:00 PM UTC (i.e., 10PM GMT, 5PM ET, 4PM CT, 2PM PT) :!:

The scheduling of the March meet is now CLOSED.

Your Squad Needs YOU!
Saturday, March 11 at 22:00 UTC
(i.e., 10PM GMT, 5PM ET, 4PM CT, 2PM PT)

Squad of the Month meet is THIS SATURDAY!.
Attendance is a big part of scoring the winner. Don't let your squad go down without a fight!

The Meet will convene on Team Speak in a channel labeled "Squad of the Month" at the time set forth above. The rules for the Meet are here. The squad competition is in the first 30 minutes to an hour and is open to current members of any of the recognized division squads in the Fleet. After that we will have build advice, a challenge match PvP, teaming up to cruise the queues, and just hanging out together on TS.

Congratulations to the Gamma Squad (Vipers) for retaining the trophy in the Squad of the Month meet for March 2017!

The attendance part of the meet was won by Engineering's Alpha Team, which mustered 30% of its numbers.

Showings were made by both Engineering's Charlie Squad (Bandidos) and Tactical's Gamma (Vipers). Charlie squad passed on challenging Alpha, as the 2 to 1 numbers advantage of Alpha was judged too easy an obstacle to overcome for Charlie. ;) Following tradition, the Viper CO took up the challenge by himself of battling Alpha for the title. In a hard fought match, Gamma won (final score 5 to 0).

Kudos to all who participated in the contest, grand PvP challenge match, build advice, teaming up in the new battle zone (which took three hours before we had enough people in the instance to actually get all the way through it :brickwall: ), and cruising of queues that went on until midnight CT; including as follows:

Alexandria
AshesandEmbers
Cmdraftbrn
Hatch
Kuvak
Pattern
NDStache11
Sabot02
WilliamSTO
Zoltan417
