If you have not seen this from a couple of weeks ago, you should really read it. It outlines the changes to Subnucleonic Beam, Viral Matrix, and Feedback Pulse. VERY relevant information for everyone. It is my understanding that these changes will appear whenever the next large patch comes out.

Check it out here: http://forums.startrekonline.com/showth ... p?t=150475

Wow, who'd have thought that Viral Matrix and SNB would get spanked with the nerfbat

FBP, no big deal. Just means I'll either hit 'em with a torp spread or just stop shooting at them and switch targets for a while.

I jumped on Tribble today, and I could see a difference for sure. In the Player Skills tab, there is a way to see which skills affect which abilities/weapons (pretty neat). Second, they put every single weapon type up for sale at the Marks of Exploration/Honor (I presume they did it at the latter, didn't check) as well as at the Marks of Valor vendors. They are identical to the bonuses and price of the Antiproton/Tricobalt weapons there on the main server now. Third, engine power levels now control turn rate rather than auxiliary, which hurts Science vessels, as they have an innate bonus to auxiliary.

It seems as though science vessels and science officers were the target of this specific patch, which should be on the main server sometime soon. Other Tribble changes to note: death penalty (I suggest reading up on it, as it is very relevant) and the difficulty slider (read up on that as well. It may be useful for the easiest STFs (maybe Infected now)).

I was reading that the Difficulty slider/Death Penalty wasn't going to affect the STFs, PVP,Fleet Actions, and the Deep Space Encounters. Not sure if this is 100% true thou. Also as for the difficulty slider, I have been playing around on it also, I like the changes its adding. Gives me the choice on what mood i am in. If I am in a rush, going to keep it on easy. Got time to kill/looking to improve my skills might as well go Elite.

I've read that it does not affect PVP or STFs. I think it can still work on fleet actions and DSEs, though I'm not positive. Also it's worth noting that the default setting, Normal, is no change to current game mechanics.

Also moving the slider up doesn't just change the HP and damage of what you're fighting - the AI will use skills more effectively as well. Doing some testing on Elite, enemies would hit me with Torpedo: High Yield the moment my shields went down (and being on Elite, would pretty much decimate my poor Escort in doing so). Elite is extremely difficult in space, and I've heard even worse in ground combat.

Other then that, thanks for the headsup. :)

Ah sweet!

I never bothered buying weapons from the vendor before since the ones I'm after aren't there, but good to know it's only 7 per weapon. 7 x 6 = 42 badges needed and I have 84 badges right now. :D

They are 7 Marks on Tribble. This is really good!
